Chunky Banana Mango Mash (Cinnamon Twist)

A soft, naturally sweet mash that’s perfect for babies 6–8 months exploring new textures.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, peeled and diced

  • 1 ripe mango, peeled and finely chopped

  • A small dash of cinnamon (optional, adds warmth and flavor)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mash the bananas and mango together with a fork until combined. Leave small, soft pieces for texture. The mash should be thick and slightly lumpy, not smooth.

  2. Sprinkle in a light dash of cinnamon and mix gently.

  3. Spoon the mixture into silicone freezer trays or small containers and let it cool before covering. Store in the fridge for up to 2 days, or freeze individual portions for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge or warm slightly before serving.

Parent Note

This recipe is perfect for babies 6+ months who are ready for thicker textures. Make sure both fruits are very ripe and soft — they should mash easily with a fork. Always supervise during feeding and introduce new textures gradually.

Optional Add-Ons

  • Add a spoonful of plain yogurt for extra creaminess.

  • For younger babies, blend briefly for a smoother consistency.
